She was 91 years old.
Bobbie Nelson, Willie Nelson's sister and longtime band pianist, has died. The musician was 91 years old.
A founding member of the Willie Nelson's Family Band, Bobbie died on Thursday morning surrounded by family, according to a post on Willie Nelson's Instagram page:
A cause of death has not been released.
Having spent more than 50 years in the Family Band, Bobbie then decided at the young age of 76 to release her solo debut. Called Autobiography, the album was released in 2008 and included "12 Street Rag" and "Crazy."
She was the most glamorous lady on this planet up until her last breath and she’s the queen of heaven now.

Bobbie Nelson was one of the first women musicians that I ever saw on stage. She was the first example I had of a woman playing music while also having a family. I’m honored to have known her. My deepest sympathies to the Nelson family.

Nobody played piano like Bobbie Nelson and nobody ever will. She was the epitome of class, grace and style and I’m sure gonna miss seeing her on stage next to @WillieNelson… my heart goes out to Willie and the family band 🕊 pic.twitter.com/A6cpK1Yivb
