Called Summit Ropes, the massive indoor ropes course is expected to open its doors to climbers by February 2019.

Out with the old, in with the new. A nearly 17,000-square-foot course with 120 rope obstacles will be taking over half of the space of an old industrial building in Sterling, making it the largest ropes course in the United States.

Created by business partners and husband-and-wife duo Amy Stuart and Daniel Kasabian, Summit Ropes is expected to open to the public by February of next year. It will be located at 44810 Old Ox Road.

"We're really trying to bring an outdoor experience indoors," Kasabian told the Washington Business Journal. "The last three weeks has really demonstrated why that's needed in Northern Virginia. We had 104 degrees and then three weeks of rain."

"Summit Ropes is designed to bring Loudoun County a family recreation center like no other in the United States; a place to explore, be challenged, use creativity and socialize with each other," according to the business journal.

Walltopia, a Bulgarian-based design company, will be heading the engineering of the course. They've been attributed to more than 1,800 projects across 50 countries and six continents. Part of their design is to divide the area into one section for the kiddos and one for the grownups, allowing for clients of all age groups and skills levels to participate.

"It'll feel like you're in Zion National Park," Kasabian added.
