It's so easy to whip out your phone and take pictures, post them online and share them with the entire world. What happens, then, when Instagram or Facebook is down or worse – a glitch locks you out of your albums?

A friend of mine was recently locked out of her Facebook account for days – it got me thinking, what if the FB rug was pulled out from under you? How many birthday, family, and vacation photos would you lose? How do you even print out pictures now anyway? Here are some simple options for backing up your favorite photos in real life.

Snapfish

This online printing company is the OG of processing your digital memories. Snapfish lets you print out copies of your social media photos, and you can even create coffee table books, calendars, and personalized gifts with them.

CVS Photo

If you prefer to pick up your photos locally, you can always upload them to the CVS Photo in your area. You can choose from a variety of sizes and finishes after you edit your images online. The prints are usually ready within a few hours, so that's another great advantage to other web-based companies.

Online File-Sharing

If you prefer to just back up your photos online, try Flickr. It's not just a place to keep your photos; it has good editing tools, too, if you need to clean things up a bit or add effects. Google Photos is another great free site for hosting our photos.

Whether you print them out, have coffee table books made, or just save them on a photo-sharing website, it's important to do SOMETHING with your important photos. If you wait too long, it becomes an overwhelming task, so find a good place to store your favorite memories.
