What's YOUR favorite dog breed?

The American Kennel Club (AKC) recently released its list of the most popular dog breeds in the United States.

There's one breed that has held the top spot since 1991: the Labrador Retriever. The AKC says that Labrador Retrievers are "friendly, outgoing, and high-spirited companions."

This year's rankings for most popular dog breeds are based on AKC registration statistics from the previous year. Because the list is so extensive and long, we've condensed it down to 30. (View the full list of 197 dog breeds.)
