The pizza is from another well-known pizza chain.

Red Robin is restaurant chain known for its diverse burger menu and bottomless steak fries. Now the burger chain is looking at adding something new to the menu: pizza. Red Robin has added pizza from a popular midwestern pizza chain called Donatos at more than 20 locations in four states. Donatos is a family-owned pizza restaurant that touts pizza with edge-to-edge toppings. Like most restaurants, Red Robin was impacted by the coronavirus crisis and has struggled to increase delivery and take-out service in the absence of dining room space.

To be fair, Red Robin already has pizza on its menu. You just have to be a kid to get it. The Donatos collaboration will be providing a more robust pizza product that will appeal to adults as well as kids. The pizza menu includes 10- and 14-inch pizzas in classic Donatos varieties, along with a special Red Robin pizza—the popular Whiskey River BBQ burger flavor. Choose ground beef or chicken, and then cheddar, smoked provolone, hardwood-smoked bacon, and crispy onion straws topped off with Whiskey River BBQ sauce.

Red Robin has a rotating menu of specialty burgers and added the plant-based Impossible burger to its menu last year. Donatos pizza is available for dine-in and takeout and can also be made with a gluten-free crust. If you want to try the new pizza at Red Robin, you’ll have to visit stores in Ohio, Colorado, Arizona, or North Carolina.

Red Robin began in Washington as a small tavern in the 1940s. Today the company is publicly-traded and has more than 570 company-owned and franchise locations in the U.S. and Canada.
