Freshness and simplicity are two key ingredients you can find at Denver's DC Pie Co.

Having opened its doors in November, DC Pie Co. on Colfax and Vine is a must-visit pizzeria for those looking for a little Brooklyn in Denver. Between its fresh ingredients, simplistic pies, Brooklyn egg cream sodas, and family recipes, you'll wonder why you haven't been visiting on a weekly basis. We had the opportunity to stop by, try some delicious food, and get to know the warm folks behind Denver's latest craze.

Co-owner/founder Dominic Cavagnuolo, "DC" as he's referred to by many, is the co-owner/founder of DC Pie Co., along with restaurateur Mary Zayaruzny. The two saw "a void in the pizza industry here," which is why they brought their flagship location to the Mile High City, according to a press release by the pizzeria.

And man, they've filled that void, and then some. We highly recommend their pizzas (because, well, duh!), but their decadent Nutella pie and famous Brooklyn egg cream soda are also personal favorites of ours -- they're classics for a reason, guys.

Their pizza sauce is made from scratch every single day, with everything being sourced from local producers, and they have as many choices for salads as they do pizza toppings, including kale caesar, celery root and fennel, and much more. Seriously, there's a little bit of everything for everyone on DC Pie Co.'s menu.

Then, as we left the cozy pizzeria, it felt like leaving an old friend's house. And you can guarantee we'll be back to visit DC, Mary, and the crew very soon!
