The special-edition liqueur is inspired by Georgetown Cupcake’s top-selling item.

Baileys Irish Cream and the founders of D.C.’s own Georgetown Cupcake have partnered up to create a special treat for the holiday season. Baileys is fusing the flavor of Georgetown Cupcake’s top-selling red velvet cupcake with the company’s classic creamy dessert liqueur. The result is a concoction that tastes like fresh-baked red velvet cake, with just a little hint of cream cheese frosting.

But wait, there’s more! If you live near a Georgetown Cupcake store you can actually stop in and try a special red velvet Baileys cupcake, too.

Baileys has already produced a couple of limited-edition holiday liquors, including a pumpkin spice version. When the brand wanted to kick it up a notch for 2019, they looked to sisters Katherine Berman and Sophie LaMontagne.

"As icons of the modern dessert world, Katherine and Sophie are the masters of what it means to 'treat yourself,'" said Dorothy DeVenecia, Brand Director of Baileys & Liqueurs, Diageo North America. "We can't wait for people to enjoy Georgetown Cupcake's number one selling flavor and combined with our delicious liqueur in one delicious treat!"

Bailey's Red Velvet Liqueur

The non-alcoholic Baileys Red Velvet cupcakes will be available in Georgetown Cupcake stores in the U.S. and online throughout November and December. The cupcake is a red velvet cupcake infused with Baileys, iced with cream cheese frosting, and topped with a gold fondant heart featuring the Baileys logo. Limited-edition bottles of Baileys Red Velvet are available now at a liquor store near you. It can be enjoyed hot or cold or as an addition to your own cocktail creation.

Georgetown Cupcake’s flagship store is located in Georgetown (of course), or locals can visit the Maryland location in Bethesda.
