According to reports, a third installment of The Princess Diaries is in the works at Disney. And yes, it's official! *Cries.*

Although, at this time, the film's lead actress, Anne Hathaway, has not signed a deal. But we won't be surprised she does so soon, as the actress has shared her hope for a third movie and how she'd love to return to the role.

Now the question is: will Julie Andrews and other actors reprise their roles in The Princess Diaries 3? Only time will tell ...

According to sources, Aadrita Mukerji is writing the script for the new movie, which will be "a continuation of the Anne Hathaway-led series of films rather than a reboot." Debra Martin Chase, the producer of the first two Princess Diaries, is producing the new film; while Melissa Stack, the screenwriter behind The Other Woman and Godmothered, is executive producing.
