If you've been missing your live musicals, head to the movies for the next best thing.

In the Heights promises to be this summer's catchiest movie, straight from the mind of Hamilton creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda. There's nothing slow about a show like this. Check out the first eight minutes of the movie, just released by the director, John Chu, of Crazy Rich Asians fame.

While you may not recognize everyone in this uber-talented cast, you'll be surprised to learn that some of your favorite characters like Daya from Orange Is the New Black (Dascha Polanco), and Detective Bobby Simone (Jimmy Smits) can sing and dance.

At its core, the movie pays homage to its New York setting, in Washington Heights, and a myriad of intertwining lives. Even from just the sneak peek, you can tell that the immigration experience plays a major role. Anyone who can relate to hot summers in the city and trying to fit in will be able to connect with the characters.

In the Heights can be seen in movie theaters on June 10, or you can stream it online with your HBO Max subscription. For more information about the film, check out the Warner Bros. website or the movie's Twitter stream.
