The singer-actress was 73 years old.

Olivia Newton-John, who is best known for her role as Sandy in Grease, has died. She was 73 years old.

Her husband, John Easterling, wrote that Olivia died peacefully surrounded by her friends and family.

"Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer," he wrote. "Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer."

She had initially been diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, but it went into remission. The cancer returned in 2013, when Olivia went back into remission. However, it surfaced again in 2017.

Olivia had multiple hit songs, including "If Not for You" (1971) and "Let Me Be There" (1973). Then, Olivia's biggest hit became "Physical," which released in 1981 and stayed at No. 1 for 10 weeks. She was also an environmental and animal rights activist.
