Event Details

Everything kicks off with the Mardi Gras parade at 4 p.m. Musicians and floats will entertain the crowd all up and down the parade route, from Blair Street, around Shake Shack to the District Pier and along Wharf Street in between. The all-female drum corps, Batala, will lead the way, followed by floats, stilt-walkers, and the Mardi Gras King and Queen.

After the last float drifts by, make your way to the main stage on the District Pier for some rollicking Zydeco music at 5:30 p.m. You'll be able to hear The Crawdaddies from just about everywhere, so stop by any of the shops for a bite to eat along the way. You can't go wrong with a District Donut or some freshly shucked oysters from the fish market!

End the evening with fireworks at 6:30 p.m. and watch as the skies over the Potomac light up in celebration of the Mardi Gras season. Laissez les bons temps roulez, y'all!
