What to Expect

First off, there will be a huge crowd. Previous festivals brought over 35,000 people to the four city blocks – that's Mardi-Gras-in-New Orleans-kind-of-crowded, people! Over 60 arts and crafts vendors will be set up for your purchasing pleasure, and 24 food vendors will serve up some delicious dishes.

The highlight of the festival is Baltimore's Best Hon Contest which draws some of the city's finest ladies. The competition's official motto is "The higher the hair, the closer to God", just to give you an idea of the level of kitsch.

The main stage will also feature live music and other entertainment throughout the two days of the festival. There's even an oyster-shucking contest on June 9!
