Celebrate the first night of Chanukah with the annual lighting of the National Menorah on the Ellipse.

METRO: Federal Triangle, Farragut West, and Farragut North are the closest Metro stations.

Live music will be performed by the U.S. Marine Band and the Three Cantors. Make sure you get a photo with Dreidelman and enjoy hot latkes and jelly doughnuts. Yum!

Know Before You Go

  • Even though tickets are free, you will need to pre-register for them and present one per person at the gate.
  • Chairs will be provided but are limited in number, so get there early if you need one.
  • Lines start to form early, and gates open for the event at 3 p.m.
  • Bundle up and bring a parka or umbrella just in case. The entire event is outdoors in an open area of the Ellipse.
