Washington, D.C., and its surrounding suburbs are not lacking for jazz concerts, but maybe that's because we're such big fans of the jazz genre!
You should definitely add one more jazz event to your list: the Rosslyn Jazz Fest. DETAILS: It’s a one-day, all-day event in early September, which makes it the perfect end to a great summer. Go out with a bang before all the fall festivities hit. It’s also totally free, so you can enjoy jazz music without having to shell out a dime. And you know this festival is quality because it has been going on for 28 years, and each year it gets more popular.
Food trucks will be lined against Gateway Park, and there will also be several bars stationed around various points of the festival. Check out the confirmed performers here, and bookmark the page to check back when more information is available.
If you live in Rosslyn, this music festival is right in your backyard. Unlike a lot of the other events in the city this summer, you won’t have to trek into D.C. proper to get your free concert fill. And if you do live in Washington D.C., Rosslyn is worth the trek. At least once this summer.
