Wings Over the Rockies will be opening a second, one-of-a-kind museum, "Exploration of Flight," on the south side of Centennial Airport this summer.

On Tuesday, January 16, Wings Over the Rockies announced its plan to expand to Centennial Airport in Englewood. (Watch the announcement.) The planned 15-acre campus will be called "Exploration of Flight" and is expected to have its first phase completed by summer. CEO John Barry said in a press release statement by the organization,
"This facility will be unique to the nation. Our Air & Space Museum in Lowry will concentrate on the past while the Exploration of Flight Campus at Centennial Airport will focus on the present and future."
[gallery type="rectangular" size="large" ids="31613,31614"] The Boeing Blue Sky Aviation Gallery is part of phase one and "will offer a visitor experience unlike any facility before it." It will give visitors the opportunity to walk through interactive exhibits and various activities like a flight simulator, and even get to watch takeoffs and landings for a really immersive experience.
