Christmas has come and gone. Now it's time to start taking down your decorations, including your Christmas tree. Check out where you can recycle your tree around Denver.
If you've got a real Christmas tree, then the sooner you get rid of it, the better. Otherwise it could dry out and become a fire hazard. And nobody wants that. Not to worry though, because several places around the Denver metro area are offering tree recycling programs. Below are the specific areas around the city where you can recycle your Christmas tree. Plus, a majority of the places are completely free so take advantage!
Please note that all ornaments, tinsel, garlands and other decorations must be removed before trees are dropped off.
From December 26 to January 14, you can bring your tree to the Adams County Regional Park. Signs will be posted to direct residents to the drop-off sites.

Between now and January 8, drop off your Christmas tree for recycling at one of three places in Aurora. It is asked of residents to bring their own truck, bags, containers and shovels for self-loading.
Del Mar Park -- East Sixth Avenue and Peoria Street (west parking lot)
Olympic Park -- 15501 E. Yale Avenue (east of Chambers Road)
Saddle Rock Golf Course -- 21705 E. Arapahoe Road

There are six locations throughout Broomfield that will be available for residents to drop off their Christmas trees through January 8.
Anthem Community Park -- half mile east of Lowell Boulevard and Sheridan Parkway (east parking lot)
Broadlands Park West -- Sheridan Boulevard and Meadow Mountain Drive (northwest parking lot)
Bronco Park -- Westlake Drive and Grove Circle (north of backstop)
Community Park Ball Fields -- Community Park Road and Spader Way (west of George Hall field)
Lac Amora Park -- Miramonte Boulevard and Oak Circle North (north of the playground)
Meridian Park -- McKay Circle and Park Cove Way in McKay Landing (west of the backstop)

Denver
Set your tree out for collection -- at your regular trash pick-up location -- on January 5 (by 7 a.m.) or January 12 (by 7 a.m.). You can then reclaim mulch made from your tree at the Mulch Giveaway & Compost Sale in May 2018.
There are also tree drop-off sites available until January 31:

Tree recycling will be available until the end of January at the Greeley Organic Waste Center. Note that trees will only be accepted Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Highlands Ranch
Four locations will be open to residents to recycle their trees until January 17. Drop them off at:

Lakewood
Bring your tree to Lakewood's Greenhouse (on Yale Avenue, between Estes and old Kipling streets) until January 7, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Signs will be posted to direct residents in the right direction.
Littleton
You'll have until January 15 to recycle your Christmas tree in Littleton. Locations include South Suburban's Willow Spring Service Center and Corner Park -- 5150 South Windermere Street.
Parker
Last day to bring in your tree will be January 29. Two locations are available:
Challenger Regional Park -- 17299 East Lincoln Avenue
Salisbury Park -- 12010 South Motensbocker Road (east parking lot)
