The day we've all been waiting for has FINALLY arrived: Rockies Opening Day! And to ensure that you're prepped and ready for game day, we've made a survival guide, of sorts. You're welcome.

Baseball season is in full swing (pun intended) and we can't wait to see what the Rockies are gonna bring to the plate (this one, too) this year! Rockies Opening Day is this Friday, April 6, and it's so close we can taste it! Or is that the new food at Coors Field talking? Either way, we're pumped! But, before all of the celebrations and festivities begin, we've got to make sure you've got all the tools and guidance needed in order to make it through the hectic craziness that will be downtown Denver on Friday. Which is why we created a Rockies Opening Day Survival Guide. Seriously, though. It's gonna be utter madness all day Friday. ALL DAY. Be sure to keep this little survival guide in mind as you enjoy the excitement of Opening Day! You never know when it'll come in handy.

Weather Forecast

Word on the street is that the weather on Friday isn't going to be all that great. In fact, it's going to be rather ... foul (somebody stop me!). We're talking snow mixed with rain. It has the potential of being the coldest home opener in franchise history! The forecast says the high could be somewhere around 40°F. So definitely make sure you're wearing the appropriate attire. Whether that be hats, gloves, scarves, boots, jackets, and whatever else you think you may need to make it through the cold. Maybe don one of the Rockies' new holiday hats? You do you, boo. The cold weather also means that everyone, and we mean everyone, will be indoors, so it's a pretty safe bet that practically everywhere you go is going to be full. Like to the brim. So make sure you be patient and give yourself plenty of time before the game even starts (at 2:10 p.m.), that way you'll beat the rush and can be guaranteed a place to sit. Because if there's a lot of people, you know you're gonna be standing and waiting a long time. And that's no fun. And who knows? Maybe the forecast will change come Friday! This is Colorado after all.

Where to Park

Opening Day is going to be packed. Yes, we've already established this, but it's good to reiterate. Since it will be crowded, finding a reasonably cheap parking spot is basically going to be unheard of. But, luckily for you, you've got our guide! Coors Field parking lots are highly coveted, so plan accordingly, especially since the lots won't open until 2.5 hours before game time. We suggest buying advanced individual game parking passes for either Lot A ($18) or Lot B ($16). You can purchase these at the Coors Field Ticket Office, Colorado Rockies Dugout Store, by calling (303)-762-5437, or online. The main Coors Field Parking Lot can be accessed at any of three entrances: Park/22nd & Wazee, 27th & Blake St., or 33rd & Blake St. The lot has 4,300 spaces available!
