Calling all nerds, cosplayers, and fangirls! You have the chance to name the 2018 Denver Comic Con brew in its annual contest. Deadline to enter is March 25 at 9 p.m.
Denver Comic Con (DCC) is in a few short months, and that means it's almost time to enjoy the official brew of the convention. But, in order to do so, fans have got to come up with a name for the beer. DCC and Breckenridge Brewery have officially launched the 2018 beer-naming contest, which ends on Sunday, March 25, at 9 p.m. (MT). All submissions can be made on Breckenridge Brewery's Facebook page, Twitter page, or blog. And on Monday, March 26, all of the entries will be narrowed down to the Final Five. That's when the voting begins. The winner will be announced on Friday, March 30, along with the local comic book artist who will be illustrating the beer name on this year's custom DCC pint glass. Not only will the winner get ultimate bragging rights, but he/she will also receive a custom prize package from Breckenridge Brewery -- free beer for a year and a DCC beer tap handle!
This year's beer is a Raspberry Witbier and is described as "a time-honored, Belgian-style ale with a tart pink twist. Brewed with unmalted wheat, orange zest, coriander and fresh raspberry puree, this unfiltered, light-bodied beer has fruity notes of raspberry and citrus, a touch of spice, and a pink blush of color. Refreshing. Surprising. Sprightly. Whimsical."
Past winners include "The Fantastic Pour" (2012), "The Caped Brewsader" (2013), "Brews Wayne" (2014), "Hulk's Smash" (2015), "Snape-ricot" (2016), and "I Am Brewt" (2017).
