The Dumb Friends League is hosting its 25th annual Furry Scurry on Saturday, May 5, in Denver's Washington Park to raise money for homeless pets and horses in our community. When: Saturday, May 5 | 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Where: Washington Park, Denver [caption id="attachment_36485" align="aligncenter" width="960"]furry scurry Courtesy of the Dumb Friends League[/caption]
If you're an animal lover, then this is the event for you! Seriously, there's nothing better than enjoying a beautiful spring day, surrounded by fluffy animals, while participating in a two-mile walk around the park. Plus, there will be refreshments, food trucks, more than 150 pet-related sponsors and vendors, contests, demonstrations, and so much more! And don't forget to register for the walk, either as an individual or a team! Prices range from $25 to $50, and includes an official Furry Scurry t-shirt. If you're unable to attend the walk, you can still donate and help thousands of homeless pets in the Denver area. [gallery type="rectangular" size="large" ids="36487,36486"] Those participating in the walk are also encouraged to collect donations from friends, family, and co-workers to help make an even bigger difference. And just as an extra incentive, those who fundraise above and beyond their $50 registration fee will receive some special prizes. The Furry Scurry helps the Dumb Friends League care for more than 22,000 homeless pets each year. Funds raised from this event will provide medical care to sick and injured animals, behavior training that allows pets to be adopted more quickly, investigations of animal neglect and mistreatment, and much more. The Dumb Friends League was founded in 1910, and its headquarters are located in Denver, which is the "largest community-based animal welfare organization in the Rocky Mountain region." What do you think? Will you be attending the Furry Scurry this Saturday? Have you participated in the past?
