Prom season is in full swing and for many struggling families, the cost of a dress alone is a luxury they can't afford. Bella Boutique is here to change that.
Imagine you're 17 again and senior prom is quickly approaching. It's an exciting time in your life, probably the biggest event to happen, like ever. You've found the perfect dress that complements your unique personality and you've got the shoes and accessories to match. Maybe you've got a cute date or you're going with a group of your closest friends. Either way, it's bound to be a night to remember. Now imagine all of that going away. You're not able to attend prom because you and your parents can't afford to spend money on a dress. There are bills to pay, and spending hundreds of dollars is not feasible. And suddenly, what is supposed to be the best night of your young life is taken from you, so you don't even get a chance to create those memories. Bella Boutique, a nonprofit organization in Denver, is trying to change this and give every teenage girl her dream prom dress, completely free. They also offer free accessories, shoes, vouchers for hair and makeup services, and so much more. Each teen that comes in is given a "personal shopping experience" by one of the boutique's stylists, who will help her find the prom dress that'll make her feel like a prom queen. The boutique focuses on low-income families, specifically high school students who receive free or reduced lunches or come from a referral by a teacher, coach, counselor, etc.

Since Bella Boutique is a nonprofit, the entire store is comprised of volunteers and is a donation-based organization. If you want to help support them and struggling Colorado families, you can make a donation between $10 to $100, or any dollar amount you see fit.
They also take gently used dresses, shoes, jewelry, purses, and more. Donations can be dropped off at the boutique every Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. View the Wish List for more information on what can and can't be accepted.
