Your car can now become a mailbox (of sorts) through Amazon's new in-car delivery service. Packages will be delivered right to the trunk of your car.
That's right. All you've got to do is willingly give them the keys to your car and voilà! Amazon packages will get delivered right to the trunk of your vehicle. And you can expect to see the service being implemented in Denver, as it's one of the first cities in the country to try the car deliveries. It's part of Amazon's new Key Delivery service that launched about six months ago, and it works in a similar way as the in-home service: an Amazon delivery person is given secure access to your car to leave the package, and once it's been delivered, a notification is sent to the customer. The service is only available for Amazon Prime members and is limited to select car models -- supports most 2015 model year (or newer) Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, and Volvo vehicles that have a connected service plan like OnStar or Volvo On Call.
The number of locations and eligible vehicles is expected to expand moving forward. Check to see if your car is supported by the service here.
