A Centennial couple didn't stop at Chipotle for the burritos or extra guacamole. Instead, they welcomed their son into the world in the restaurant's parking lot.
Angie Schell, a 911 dispatcher at South Metro dispatch center, received an interesting call at 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, from a couple at a Chipotle restaurant on East Smoky Hill Road in Centennial. And no, they weren't asking for her lunch order. The couple was in the restaurant's parking lot about to give birth to their son. "They call us because they are having difficulty breathing, or they just wrecked their car, or their house is on fire. This would be my first full delivery," Schell told Denver7. She continued, "I've been the last voice that many people have spoken to, so it's really nice to be able to be there for their first breath, too." Saul Flores was the one who called 911 as Adrianna Alvarez went into labor. "Oh God, the baby is coming. She's pushing right now," Flores said on the 911 call.
Luckily, a medic arrived just in time to help finish the delivery. Schell remained on the line with Flores as baby Jaden let out his first cries at 9:11 a.m.
Baby Jaden is currently at Parker Adventist Hospital, where his family says they're all doing well.
