That's right. 13,500 pounds of creamy deliciousness awaits you. And you can try each and every gelato flavor available at the two-day Gelato Festival America -- you know, before you dip into a food coma.

The Gelato Festival America returns for a second summer of competition, classes, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy delicious Italian gelato. Originally hailing from Europe, the festival is embarking on a country-wide tour, hitting cities from Chicago to Los Angeles and more between August and October.

And, luckily for us Coloradans, the Gelato Festival America will be swinging by Boulder this August. So get your stretchy pants ready!

When: Saturday, August 18, to Sunday, August 19
Where: 1710 29th Street, Boulder

Tickets are now on sale and include one scoop of each flavor, access to both the gelato school and the gelato eating contest, and the chance to submit your vote for your favorite flavor alongside the panel of gelato experts. "After the huge success all over Europe, and our first edition of the Gelato Festival in the USA in 2017, we realize that Americans really do love gelato — maybe even more than ice cream," expressed Daniele Palazzoni, General Manager of Gelato Festival America, in a statement.  "It is our goal to make certain that every American gets to taste what real Italian gelato is like and to spread the culture of artisan Italian gelato throughout the world’s largest consumer market for frozen desserts, focusing on the higher quality of this product compared to all others."

You may even see some of last year's flavors featured this year, including Tropical Blast, Fresh Love, Spicy Green Paradise, and Sicily Orange Sunrise, among others. A full list of flavors has not been announced just yet. But, if there's going to be more than 13,500 pounds of the creamy treat at your disposal, then there's bound to be plenty of options for you to indulge in.

In addition to seemingly endless samples, the Gelato Festival America will include plenty of fun activities, presentations, and performances for all.
