There's something about a good book that gets us excited. It might be the fact that we're writers for a living, but we LOVE to read -- which is why we asked you, our audience, what books you've been reading lately! And you gave us such an extensive list of novels -- both fiction and non-fiction -- that we had trouble deciding which ones to include. So here are 10 of the books that were recommended multiple times, by several different people. If you don't see your book included in the list, don't worry. Ready Player One

The debut novel of author Ernest Cline, Ready Player One takes place in the year 2045, and the world is a very different place. A virtual reality called the OASIS offers solace from the harsh reality, and when teenager Wade Watts gets thrust into a competition inside the OASIS, he ends up getting more than he bargained for. The Mountain Between Us
Author: Charles Martin
Year: 2010
Two strangers are forced to charter a plane together in order to get home after a blizzard hits. Ben Payne, a surgeon, and Ashley Knox, a magazine writer, quickly find themselves stranded in the Utah wilderness. With no food or shelter, they're miles from civilization and suffered some serious injuries in the plane crash. Now the two strangers will have to lean on one another in order to survive. A film of the same name was released in 2017 and stars Idris Elba and Kate Winslet. Watch the trailer here.
What If
Author: Rebecca Donovan
Year: 2014
What would you do if you had a second chance to meet someone for the first time? What If asks that very question. Cal Logan is stunned when he sees Nicole Bentley, his childhood crush, at a coffee shop one day. There's only one problem -- this girl isn't Nicole. Her name is Nyelle Preston, and she's the complete opposite of Nicole, and Cal can't help but fall for her.
Wonder
Author: R.J. Palacio
Year: 2012
Auggie Pullman is a 10-year-old boy who wants to be like everybody else. He strives to be ordinary. Only, Auggie is anything but ordinary. Born with a facial abnormality, he has been home-schooled his entire life -- this was done to try and protect him from the harsh and cruel reality of the world. But now, he's being sent to public school. It's up to Auggie to prove that he's just like them. In 2017, a film based on the book came out. You can watch the trailer here.
Gone Girl
Author: Gillian Flynn
Year: 2012
Not everything is as it seems. This is a constant theme in Gone Girl. The thriller follows Nick Dunne as he tries to find his missing wife Amy, who many believe was killed. He's got the pressure of the police and media breathing down his back, along with Amy's parents, as he tells lie after lie. A film based on the book was released in 2014 starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. Watch the trailer here.
We Were the Lucky Ones
Author: Georgia Hunter
Year: 2017
We Were the Lucky Ones is based on the incredible true story of a Jewish family that becomes separated during World War II. The Kurc family is simply trying to live their lives as normally as possible, especially with the war drawing near. When the war eventually knocks at their door, they're forced apart and must try to navigate their way back to one another.
War on Two Fronts: An Infantry Commander's War in Iraq and the Pentagon

Year: 2007
In this biographical memoir, Lieutenant Colonel Christopher P. Hughes retells his experiences of the war in Iraq. Then, after his tour in Iraq, he is transferred to Washington, D.C., more specifically the Pentagon. It's an in-depth look at the war through an infantry commander's perspective.
Two By Two
Author: Nicholas Sparks
Year: 2016
Russell Green used to think he had it all: a beautiful wife, loving daughter, a successful career, and great home. But not everything is as plush or shiny as it seems on the surface. The Innocent Man

Year: 2006
This marks as John Grisham's first work of non-fiction and follows the true story of several murders in Oklahoma, which led to a false conviction, imprisonment, and potential execution of four innocent men. The main subject is Ron Williamson, a former baseball player who is wrongly accused of murdering a young waitress.
Harry Potter series
Author: J.K. Rowling
Year: 1997 to 2007
We very well couldn't include a book recommendation list without including Harry Potter. The beloved seven-book series about the young wizard is one that should be on everyone's reading list. Not only has the series spawned a highly successful movie series, but it's also produced two theme parks and even an equally successful stage production.
