A new $12.9 million, 39-unit housing development is coming to Aurora. The Paris Family Apartments will break ground March 21.
A new, more affordable housing development is coming to Aurora. The Paris Family Apartments is being developed by Brothers Redevelopment, Inc. and located at 1702 Paris St. The $12.9 million project should break ground on March 21 and take roughly a year to complete prior to its opening in March 2019. The community will house 39 units -- 24 two-bedroom units and 15 three bedroom units -- and will give "preferential consideration" to income-eligible veterans and families, specifically those earning 30 to 50 percent or less of the median income for the area. For Adams County, that's about $22,680 to $37,800 in gross annual income (three-person household). Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan told The Denver Business Journal, "Affordable housing is an important part of Aurora's planning, and Paris Family Apartments offers a great example of how government, nonprofits, businesses, and leaders can work together to build a welcoming, inclusive community." Brothers Redevelopment is currently working with various community partners to bring on-site supportive services for residents, including after-school tutoring, job sourcing, and educational programs.
"By focusing on veterans and their families, this initiative honors those who have selflessly served our nation and reminds them whatever struggles or obstacles they might face, they are not forgotten and have a home in our city," said Hogan.
