The NFL Foundation and Local Initiatives Support Corporation teamed up with the Denver Broncos to give a $250,000 grant to Aurora Central High School to install a new turf field.
Aurora Central High School is about to get an all-new turf field, courtesy of the Broncos' $250,000 grant. The Broncos partnered up with the NFL Foundation Grassroots Program and Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) as part of $3 million in field-refurbishment awards distributed across the country this year. The new turf field is expected to be complete at Aurora Central this fall.
"The department of athletics and activities in APS, along with Aurora Central High School and the greater Aurora community are so incredibly excited about the opportunities that this new field will provide," said Michael Krueger, Director of District Athletics & Activities for APS, in a statement by the Broncos.
Krueger continued,
"We truly realize the positive impact that this will have on our community, the students at Aurora Central, and the many programs that will utilize the football field. We are incredibly thankful to the Denver Broncos and the NFL Foundation for their continued support of our schools and our community."The new turf may either be completely rebuilt or significantly renovated, with improvements including irrigation systems, lights, bleachers, goal posts, scoreboards, and turf. Since 1998, the NFL Foundation and LISC Grassroots Program has granted $46 million to 336 projects across the nation. Thank you, Denver Broncos, for supporting our local schools and communities!
