Sometimes, you just need a relaxing drive and some ice cream on the other side.

Do you remember when getting a weekend sundae was a big family outing? People come from far and wide for MooThru's artisanal ice cream and locally-sourced dairy products. They're the perfect treat after a relaxing drive through the Virginia countryside. Due to social distancing guidelines, all sales are currently made through their drive-through.

Getting There

Regardless of the route you choose, there are plenty of local eateries and farm stands on the way there. Pack a blanket or some camp chairs and cobble together an impromptu picnic.

Coming down Route 28 or Route 15 will give you the most relaxing views, so put together an ice cream playlist and take the long way!

One of the best things about MooThru is that they get their milk and cream from local farmers. Combining it with some of the best ripe fruits and berries, they create memorable flavors that change with the seasons. You can find their weekly ice cream menu on both their Facebook page and website. People come armed with coolers for their incomparable milk in old-fashioned glass bottles.

In addition to the Remington storefront, the MooThru trucks are a welcome sight at farmers' markets and food truck roundups all over the DMV. Keep an eye out for updates on where they'll be next!
