Master the aerial arts or simply learn to relax while dangling in silks at the D.C. location of Trapeze School New York.

Located in the Navy Yard neighborhood just behind Nats Park, Trapeze School New York (TSNY) is a great place to even just people-watch. On any given day, you can find people learning how to swing from a trapeze, flop onto the bouncy safety net, and make it all look oh-so-inviting. The classes are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to offerings, though—this center also hosts shows throughout the year!

First-time students in the flying trapeze classes are fitted with harnesses and safety lines. The entire trapeze apparatus has a safety net underneath it. You don't even need fancy equipment, just tight-fitting athletic clothing and socks. That's it!

There are many other types of classes offered at TSNY. You can learn how to climb, invert, and manipulate the silks, finally conquer juggling, or even take a trampoline class. Anything is possible if you just give it a try.

To register for a class, simply go to the website, pick the category you're interested in, and the date. Available sessions will appear on the screen and indicate if there are any open slots. Book online and follow instructions on how to dress for the activity, and you're on your way. The cost of classes varies depending on the activity, the class duration and whether it's a group class or individual instruction.
