"Hamilton" was scheduled to play at the Buell Theatre this fall.

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) announced on Thursday, May 14, that the previously scheduled engagement of Hamilton at the Buell Theatre has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In an email to patrons, John Ekeberg, Executive Director of Broadway and Cabaret at the DCPA, writes,

"In partnership with the producers, we have made the difficult yet important decision to postpone the 2020 Hamilton engagement due to the continuing impact of COVID-19 on the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, restrictions around large gatherings in enclosed public venues and out of an abundance of caution ...

The challenges and uncertainties around this health crisis have had an enormous impact on all of our communities, and the theatrical community has been uniquely challenged. I want to express my sincere thanks to our subscribers, donors, ticket-buyers, and all who support the work of the Denver Center. It is our sole focus to plan for that day in the future when we welcome you back to the theatre in a manner that is healthy and safe. Until then, thank you so much for your ongoing support."

Hamilton was set to perform at the Buell Theatre from August 12 through October 14 as part of the DCPA's 2020-21 Broadway lineup.

This news comes after the DCPA postponed the ticket sales for the Broadway production. The Denver Center is "actively working" to find replacement dates, as well as keeping patrons informed of all ticketing options once new dates have been set.

At least we have the Hamilton film coming to Disney+ in July to keep us entertained until then.
